You might not realize how dirty your windows are until they’re free of dust, mud, and smudges. Clean windows can completely transform the look of your home – discover the best way to clean windows without streaks!

Depending on the number of your windows, you may need a couple hours and the following products:

First, Choose a Window Cleaning Solution That Really Works

When it comes to cleaning around your family, we think plant-based solutions are the way to go. That’s why our Multi-Surface Cleaner is 99.96% natural and specially formulated to clean just about any home surface, including glass windows, without smudging or streaking.

Next, Select the Best Cloth for Cleaning Windows

Paper towels are expensive, wasteful, and tear under pressure. Cotton towels tend to push dirt around on surfaces, rather than collect them (and no one wants fuzzy, streaky surfaces).

Since our microfibers are 100x finer than human hair, they provide an incredible amount of surface area. Compared to other cotton towels, they absorb 7X their weight in water. And when properly cared for, you can expect to use them over 500 times.

We don’t want to exaggerate, but the right microfiber towels can transform your cleaning experience – and we think we’ve created the best ones out there.

Your Guide to Zero Streak Window Cleaning

The first step to cleaning windows? Picking the right day, especially when it’s cloudy and cool. Hot, sunny days will probably dry the cleaning spray before you’ve had the chance to wipe it all off (leading to streaks and frustration).

For blinds or slats, dampen a microfiber towel with a 50/50 vinegar-water mixture. Working your way downwards, pinch a blind slat between your fingers and run the cloth down the entire length. Repeat this method, rinsing your microfiber cloth in the cleaning solution as often as you need.

When you reach the bottom, spritz window sills with Multi-Surface Spray to trap any lingering dust bunnies. You can also just break out your vacuum cleaner attachment.

Pro tip: To refresh your curtains and remove dust, toss them on an “air fluff” setting for about 15 minutes.

#2: Focus on Tough Spotsclean windows

Notice areas with particularly intense water spots or streaks? Spray them with Multi-Surface Cleaner, let it sit for about 30 seconds, then wipe it away.

#3: Focus on 2 x 2’ Areas

Too much window cleaner will be hard to wipe away effectively. That’s why we recommend using one spray of our Multi-Surface Spray per each 2x2 foot area.

#4: It’s All in the Wrist

Using a clean, folded, microfiber towel, apply medium pressure in fast, overlapping “Z” patterns. You’ll know you’re doing it right when the cleaner begins to evaporate after each wipe.

How to Clean Exterior Windows

Cleaning exterior windows is a big job. If you have a two-story home, hiring a professional window cleaner is probably a wise choice (at least for those high windows). They’re trained to safely provide incredibly clean windows.

To get some of the ground floor windows done yourself, it's pretty much the same routine as inside. However, you’ll probably need to spray windows, casements, and corners with a hose to remove dirt and debris. Next, go over the windows and exterior window frames with a slightly damp microfiber cloth to remove lingering dirt.
